Shawn grew up in Rural Iowa and was always drawn to anything with a motor. He started out pulling his brother around with the lawn mower, and then decided to build a go-cart for a 4-H project. From there he progressed to quads, snowmobiles and cars.
After graduating high school, Shawn went to school for Auto Collision Repair. He spent time working at local shops that include, Auto Body, Car Audio, Upholstery, and Fabrication work. He operated his own shop for two years doing collision, mechanical and mobile audio work. At age 22, he found a wrecked CBR600RR and instantly became addicted to the freedom of 2 wheels. From there he build a track dedicated CBR1000RR and things have growth ever since. From performance sportbikes to 70’s Japanese bike, he have a passion for it all.
During this time he was back in school and got an opportunity to work in Arizona doing I.T. work. While in Arizona, vintage motorcycles were readily available and worked great in his small shop. He started building cafe racers and doing some work for local customers.
Fast forward 6 years and his work have been on Silodrome, BikeEXIF, and in Dice Magazine. He recently moved back to Iowa and is back at it.
